Pourtrait is an interactive mixology machine designed to sit atop a bar counter, reimagining the classic photobooth experience through the lens of AI and personalized drink-making. Instead of capturing an image, this machine captures a mood—translating a user’s presence, expressions, and environment into a bespoke cocktail recipe. Equipped with a built-in camera, Pourtrait analyzes visual cues and processes them using OpenAI to generate a drink that embodies the user’s perceived personality, energy, or aesthetic at that moment.
To allow for personal preference alongside AI interpretation, Pourtrait features a set of dials, enabling users to adjust key characteristics of their drink—such as strength, sweetness, or acidity—before the final recipe is generated. This playful fusion of AI-driven interpretation and cocktail artistry adds a novel twist to both bar culture and photobooth nostalgia. Just as traditional photobooths produce physical keepsakes, Pourtrait prints the generated cocktail recipe onto a small slip of thermal paper, offering a tangible memento of the encounter.
